Fashion Icon: MICHELE LAMY

The press usually refers to Michele Lamy as “the wife and muse of designer Rick Owens,” Forbes, as “the woman behind Rick Owens” and for the rest of the people she is an eccentric woman. Outfitted in dark, , her forehead swiped with a thick line of kohl, and mouth brimming with gold and diamond dental work, this French woman does not live in any sort of shadow, she lives her life by her own rules and she doesn’t give a fuck about what other people could say about her.

But while we’ve long admired her eclectic jewelry, tattooed hands, gold teeth, artistic use of kohl and bohemian psyche there has been much left unsaid about Lamy’s daily life; she is a wife, a mother, a muse, a storyteller, a rapper and performer, and a constant presence into both American and Parisian highlife.

She has her own style; she is original and one of the most eccentric person from the fashion industry.

Born in France, she lived for a long time in Los Angeles, where she met Rick Owens and ran the legendary 90s restaurant and nightspot Les Deux Cafés. Now resident in Paris, she is best-known to many as the wife and business partner of Owens as well as a constant presence into the street style report or during Fashion Month.

I’m sure that a lot of you will say that this is too much, but hey, let’s admit that she thought us some important lessons: be you, be who you want to be, be different!
