Mastering The Art of Wearing Dress-Over-Pants

I know you girls are waiting for summer to come so you can wear your dresses, but no worry, wear them now. How? Over your pants, off course.

It all started in 2012 at Chanel’s fall/winter show, where crystal eyebrows and skirts over the pants (dop trend) reigned the runway. After this event, in the next months the red carpet was full of these looks, starting with Emma Watson.

The secret is that you wear comfy basics, and be sure to keep your jeans (pants) as fitted as possible to avoid dreaded frump. Off course you can match your denim with the color of your dress, you can wear a boohoo skirt, a tulle one or a pencil skirt.

The real challenge of wearing this is not on the runways, but on the streets, and fashionable people weren’t afraid of trying it. First look was from fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell, which stepped out in a multi layered maxi skirt which allows just a peep of denim jean to appear at her ankles, then, Leandra Medine of the Man Rappeler wore a similar look in New York.

If the question is: “Will anyone actually wear this?” The answer is: “Yes”. Now,  let’s have a look at all the outfits and inspire from them for your own.
