Today we’re gonna talk about street style, a fashion current which appeared a few years ago and it’s still growing.
Beginning with innovators in street-style photographs like Bill Cunningham, Sartorialist ( Scott Schuman), Tommy Ton, street style has became a way of life, a source of inspiration, a dictator of fashion.
This current is an ode to people with fashion sense, with an original way of mixing clothes of their own without a stylist help or studies. Street fashion is generally associated with youth culture, and is most often seen in major urban centers. It always existed, but it was only celebrated in recent years.
Magazines and newspapers publish street style photos of various well dressed people in order to inspire others, to try out their ideas.
Fashion photographer Garance Doré tells Elle: “What we call street style isn’t actually street style at all, it’s fashion-week style.”
Since always people dressed for themselves, but now they dress for the camera, in other words, if you are not photographed then you don’t exist.
Now the runways are on the streets.
