According to harpersbazaar.com, marsala (earthy wine red) is the color of 2015 and its name is given by the color of a wine produced in Marsala, an Italian city in Sicily.
“ Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth” says Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director at Pantone Color Institute.
While are those of us who immediately embraced the “earthy wine red” shade, others weren’t so keen on this tone. But no matter which side of Marsala debate you’re on, we can all agree that rich tone is actually an elegant and glamorous one.
Interesting, ha? Instyle.com advise us to pair it with a neutral tone like navy or black, or to try a complementary color, like mustard.
If you don’t want to use it in your outfits, try to use it as a lipstick shade, eyeshadows or nail polish, the easiest way to experiment it.
Fashion editors recommend us in winter to pair the color with jewel tones and as the spring comes to opt for marsala with icy pastels.
